AREAS OF EXPERTISE

FEDERAL AND CALIFORNIA ESTATE, GIFT
AND INCOME TAX PLANNING

I provide a complete range of counseling, representation and assistance in matters involving federal and California estate, gift, generation skipping, income and real property tax matters. I am a member of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association and the State Bar of California.

To encourage and facilitate the client's understanding of the estate planning documents, when I send a draft thereof to the client, it is accompanied by a letter in "plain English" explaining the more important provisions of the documents and their tax and legal effects.

When federal estate and gift tax law changes, whether by legislation, court cases or Internal Revenue Services changes in position, or when I become aware of new thinking in the estate planning and tax literature which I read, I accordingly change my forms. I then prepare an amendment to each client's documents and sends the amendment to each client with a clear and understandable explanatory letter.

To enable myself to be aware of law changes and new thinking, I read four estate planning and probate monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly publications and two national weekly tax reports concerning statutory, case law and regulatory changes. I also attend monthly meetings of the Probate and Trust section of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association. Additionally, I attend the annual University of Southern California all day Trust and Probate Conference and other continuing education estate planning, trust, probate and tax programs sponsored by various professional and charitable organizations.

The Trust Agreements prepared by my office are designed to afford a great amount of flexibility to enable those who established the trust to accommodate changes in the family needs and structure and the use of alternate estate tax saving plans.
